Most "free AI tools" lists are not lists of free tools. They are lists of tools with a free trial, a free plan that needs a card on file, or a "free" tier so small it stops being useful on day one. This page is different: every tool below was checked on its own official pricing or signup page on 7 November 2026, and it is here only if you can use it without handing over a credit card. Five of the sixteen need no account at all — you open the page and start.

This is a researched comparison, not a hands-on test, and we say so plainly: we did not run a production workflow on every tool, and no figure below is presented as a measured result from our own use. What follows is built from each tool's own official pages, read in November 2026. Prices and limits change often — a free tier that exists today can shrink tomorrow, as Pika's did in November 2026, when its free plan dropped to zero monthly credits. Check the official site before you rely on any limit below. If you want the wider free-tier directory, see our free tools page; for video specifically, our free AI video generator guide.

How we verify "really free"

A tool earns a place on this page only if it passes four checks — and every check is done on the tool's own official pages, not on a review site or a tracker.

No signup at all — 5 tools

These five ask for nothing: no email, no account, no card. Open the page and start.

Ezgif — GIFs and images, no account

A browser workhorse for GIFs and images: make, convert, resize and optimise animated images without creating an account. Its newer local-processing mode runs in your browser, with no file-size limits and nothing uploaded to a server.

Perchance — AI images, stories and chat, unlimited

A set of free AI generators — images, characters, stories and chat — that run with no account and no published daily limit. The practical limit is server queues at busy times, not a paywall, and the site is ad-supported.

Craiyon — images from words, no account

Type a description, get images in seconds — no account needed. The free tier gives a limited number of images, with a watermark and possible waits at busy times, and free images are public.

Dezgo — image and video generation, no account

AI image and video generation that works without an account, with rate limits and capped image quality on the free version. Accounts exist for the prepaid Power Mode, not for basic use — and there is no subscription.

TTSMaker — text to speech, no account

Text to speech in many languages, free in the browser: 20,000 characters a week, with some voices unlimited. You can download the audio for commercial use at no cost.

Signup needed, still no card — 11 tools

These need an account, but none of them asks for a credit card on the free tier. The account is the price of entry; money is not.

ChatGPT — unlimited text chat, free

The free plan costs $0 and needs no card: unlimited everyday text chats, with uploads, image creation, voice and deep research limited. An account is needed in most regions.

Claude — free for everyone

Anthropic's assistant is free for everyone at $0 — chat, web search, files and code — with usage limits. You sign in to use it; no card is asked for.

Gemini — free with a Google account

Free at $0 with any Google account: image generation and editing, Deep Research, Canvas, Gems and 15 GB of storage shared across Google services. Video generation and the strongest models are paid.

Perplexity — search without an account

AI search with cited answers. Basic searches are practically unlimited and work without an account; the free plan adds 3 Pro searches a day and 1 Research query a month. Signing in saves your history.

DeepSeek — free chat, no paid tier at all

The web chat is free with an account and no card — and unusually, there is no paid consumer tier to upgrade into. No daily message cap is published; the API is separate and paid.

Canva — design, free forever

The design tool's free plan is $0 forever with no card: 1.6 million+ templates, 5 GB of storage and up to 20 AI uses a month. You sign up with email, Google or Apple.

Leonardo AI — 150 free tokens a day

Free at $0 with 150 fast tokens a day on the Auto model only; everything you make on the free plan is public. Paid plans start at $12 a month.

Ideogram — 30 free credits a week, with a catch

Free at $0 with 30 credits a week — but only if you sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft. Email sign-ups get no free credits at all, and free generations are public.

Kling — 66 free credits a day

Free at $0 with 66 credits a day, widely reported (the exact amount is set by the platform and has changed before). Free clips are watermarked and capped at 720p, with no commercial use.

CapCut — free video editing, no card

The online video editor's free plan needs no credit card. You sign in to save projects; the free tier covers the core editor, templates and AI tools.

Runway — try the studio free

The video studio lets you try free — the starter allowance is a one-time credit grant, so check the official site for the current amount before you plan a project around it.

Tools we left out (and why)

A "really free" list is only honest if it says what it excluded. Two well-known tools did not pass our check on 7 November 2026.

Pika — Pika's free plan now gives 0 credits a month, packs only. You can open an account for free, but you cannot generate anything without paying, so it is not a really-free tool. It was free (80 credits a month) earlier in 2026; the change is a reminder to check the official page, not a tracker.

Pollinations — Pollinations' homepage now presents a developer API platform, and its free no-signup image generation is not stated on the pages we could read — so we could not verify it to our own standard, and left it out.

FAQs

What does "really free" mean on this page?

It means you can use the tool's free tier without a credit card. Five of the sixteen also need no account at all. It does not mean unlimited — every free tier has limits, and we state them.

Do any of these tools need a credit card?

No. Every tool on this page was checked on its official page and works without a card. If a tool's free tier asks for a card, it is not listed.

Which tools work without any signup?

Five: Ezgif, Perchance, Craiyon, Dezgo and TTSMaker. Perplexity's basic search also works without an account, though signing in saves your history.

How do you verify a tool is really free?

We read the tool's own official pricing or signup page on 7 November 2026 and record what it says — no review sites, no trackers. A tool is listed only if the official page confirms a free tier without a card.

Why is Pika not on the list?

Pika's free plan gives 0 credits a month as of November 2026 — you can create an account, but you cannot generate anything without buying a credit pack. A free plan with nothing free in it does not belong here.

Do free tiers change?

Yes, often and without announcement. Pika's free allowance dropped from 80 credits a month to zero during 2026, and Gemini trimmed its free models in October 2026. This page was last verified on 7 November 2026 — check the official site before you rely on any limit.

We verify free tiers on the tools' own official pages and revisit them regularly. We don't test every tool by hand, so we say so — and we publish the date of our last check. Last verified: 7 November 2026.
