An AI-morphed clip of the song Chuttamalle (from Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1) featuring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor went viral this week — and on October 4, Janhvi finally broke her silence with a strong statement against the misuse of technology, thanking Jr NTR for taking a firm stand against such violations. She said the issue runs far deeper than the recent crop of AI videos: it's about the judgment, unwanted attention and daily safety calculations women face, adding that a woman's clothing never gives anyone the right to record, alter or visually misuse her.

Jr NTR was the first to call out the clip, warning its creators of legal action. Chiranjeevi then urged netizens not to watch, download or share the AI version, and said he would take the matter up with film bodies and cyber-crime authorities, per News18. Vijay Deverakonda called the clip the "digital equivalent of sexual assault," and actress Khushbu Sundar backed Janhvi on X, writing: "A woman's body is not content" — refusing to stay silent "when another woman is digitally violated, degraded and humiliated."

The backlash has reignited calls for stricter AI-misuse laws in India, with industry voices arguing that viral morphed videos of women celebrities are exactly the kind of abuse regulators need to tackle. As Janhvi put it, the hope is that the uproar makes the people behind such clips understand the seriousness of what they are doing.
